Britax wants to make sure children are safe while riding in vehicles. If a new safety feature comes out you can rest assure Britax will integrate it into all of their car seats. Britax stays up to date on all of the most recent safety features. The Marathon has over seven safety features that helps ensure children’s safety. The Marathon car seat it also packed with comfort features, this helps children enjoy the car ride and that in turn helps parents focus on the road.

The Marathon can be positioned in the rear-facing position starting at five pounds all the way to thirty five pounds. The Marathon can be placed in the forward-facing position at twenty pounds and safely secure children to sixty five pounds. Always follow manufactures instructions and safety guidelines before placing your child in rear/forward-facing positions.

Safety Features:

Side Impact Protection – Several studies have proven that when in a vehicle accident most of the force goes directly to the child’s head and chest. That’s why Britax included the side impact protection safety feature in the Marathon. The side impact protection safety feature helps distributes the crash force.

Built in Lock Offs – The built in lock offs clip to the vehicles safety belt. Britax has been using the built in lock offs since it was introduced in 1996 to North America. The built in lock offs ensures the child’s safety seat will not move more than one inch from side to side.

LATCH Connectors – The LATCH Connectors is another way to reduce movement. LATCH Connector will reduce movement from side to side and front to back. There is a audible click that can be heard when the LATCH Connectors are installed correctly.

Harness Ultra Guard System – This safety feature is also known as “HUGS”. This safety feature helps protect the brain and spinal cord if in a vehicle accident. The HUGS safety feature is located on the harness straps and creates crash distribution force.

Studies have shown that most car seats are installed improperly. The first mistakes parents normally make are they do not ready through all of the manufactures instructions. It might seem like a daunting task at first, but it is well worth the time. If you have read over your manufactures instructions and you still feel lost on how to install your car seat properly go to your local fire station. Most fire stations will show parents how to properly install their child’s car seat. If nothing else you can take the car seat up there to make sure it was installed properly!

Britax Marathon car seat has over 8 different covers you can choose from. They have everything from natural to animal prints. Parents will be glad to know that all of the seat covers are machine washable. This makes it easy for parents to keep their car seat covers looking brand new.

It’s filled with changes and new experiences. Your body is charged with hormones and there’s new life developing inside you. Given all the transformations that are taking place, the subject of what to eat, and also what not to eat get’s a whole new meaning.

Food and dietary matters is all important for pregnant women, as they are eating for two (or perhaps more). Yet, it can often become a somewhat murky area. There’s so much misinformation floating around out there that the facts become confused with the myths. Yet, despite all the mystery surrounding food and pregnancy, experts suggest that drastic changes aren’t necessary.

Most nutritionists suggest that pregnant women beware of certain foods, while completely steering clear of others. A lot of this is general knowledge, but when you delve into the exact details, the fine print as it were, it can get rather confusing. It becomes difficult to decipher what’s actually bad for you.

Family members are eager to dish out advice. Strangers even will offer you their supposed tried and true tips when it comes to diet and babies and giving birth, etc. All this often unsolicited information can be frustrating and confusing all at once. It doesn’t help that those extra hormones make you delicately testy and moody.

It worsen matters that each and every day scientific and not so scientific journals are spouting out new opinion pieces and studies that certain foods are actually bad for pregnant women, a claim which is then duly refuted by the next day’s news. The onslaught of new information ends up confusing women rather than helping them out.

When all is said and done, all this information flying around is hard to wrap your head around. Rather than giving you answers, you just have a headache.

The question of what one can eat and what one shouldn’t eat when pregnant can be boiled down to a few basic guidelines. The thing to remember is that you should be smart. Eat in moderation and put your common sense to work. Don’t over indulge.

Experts would agree that there are some simple rules to abide by when it comes down to it. These guidelines are actually really guidelines anyone should follow, with a few amendments.

You should always remember to wash all fruits and vegetables before you eat them. Remember too, to be careful with foods such as cantaloupe and water melon-the rinds can actually contain harmful bacteria that may be transferred to the fruit, so do wash them before you cut into them.

Always cook food carefully. This rule applies especially to poultry, meats and eggs. Play it safe and go for well done.

Wash your hands before and after handling meat products.

Don’t indulge in high fat junk food. Remember moderation is key.

Be wary of seafood. Certain fatty fish like shark and tile-fish contain dangerous amounts of mercury.

Canned and shell fish are safer options.

Alcohol should be avoided.

Jayde Johannsen, just became a mother again is up to date with food rules and pregnancy. She also loves women’s shoes and just became wrote about women’s shoes boots.

Pregnancy fashion has come into its own. You’re no longer forced to wear maternity clothes that are as stylish as potato sacks (and just as comfortable). Today, moms-to-be can show off their shape while staying as comfy as possible.

When it comes to maternity wear, there’s a lot of flexibility that you can leverage. Today’s article will provide the basics of looking great and feeling comfortable as your belly expands.

Go Vertical

Just because your figure is getting larger doesn’t mean you want to let the world know by exaggerating the fact. Keep in mind that clothing that emphasizes clear horizontal lines will cause eyes to move from one side to the other. By contrast, vertical lines encourage people to move their eyes from top to bottom and back again. If you’d like to give off a lean appearance, go vertical.

Dress The Shoulders

Most of your figure is growing, including your waist, belly, and bust. However, your shoulders are staying the same. The problem is that as your body expands, it’s easy to forget to dress your shoulders up. As a result, clothes will simply hang from them and give your image a sloppy appearance. When you buy maternity wear, make sure the tops fit your shoulders well.

Darker Colors Slim Your Figure

This won’t come as a surprise. Dark colors will make your body appear more slender than brighter colors. A navy blue will have a better slimming effect than a bright orange. When you buy pregnancy clothes, consider sticking to the darker shades.

Direct Attention To Your Strong Points

Even as your ankles and calves swell, other areas of your body are screaming for attention. For example, as you move into the third trimester, your cleavage is bound to attract attention (not to mention a little envy). Tops with empire waists can accentuate your figure’s strong points while darker colored bottoms help conceal areas you’d rather people not focus on.

Choose Tighter Clothes

Baggy maternity wear might feel comfortable (who doesn’t enjoy a comfy pair of baggy sweatpants?), but it won’t emphasize your figure’s best points. In fact, loose-fitting clothes will actually make your body appear bigger without the advantage of highlighting your new curves. Think about buying tighter clothing. A lot of pregnancy wear is now form-fitting to help show off your expanding belly.

You might be able to unbutton a few buttons, don your partner’s shirts, or move up a size during the first trimester. However, by month four, you’ll need to make the transition into clothing that is designed to accommodate your growing body. The good news is that you’ll have plenty of options at your disposal for looking and feeling great during your pregnancy.

Vitamin D’s role is fundamentally calcium maintenance; in this role it maintains the healthy calcium levels in your bones. When pregnant, vitamin D may work in a similar fashion. However, this specific vitamin also touches hundreds of diverse genes and to affect multiple areas of wellbeing.

The research surrounding vitamin D is expanding on a daily basis, and recently the American Academy of Dermatology has updated their recommendations to caution the public not to not getting sufficient vitamin D. Vitamin D insufficiency is where you do not have the optimal amount of vitamin D circulating in your body, but are not identifiably deficient in the nutrient. In reference to their new guidelines, the American Academy of Dermatology’s new guidance is as follows:

“The vitamin D position statement supports the Academy’s long-held conviction on safe ways to get this important vitamin – through a healthy diet which incorporates foods naturally rich in vitamin D, vitamin D-fortified foods and beverages, and vitamin D supplements,” said David Pariser, president of the American Academy of Dermatology.

“The updated recommendation for individuals who practice daily sun protection acknowledges that while protecting the skin from the damaging rays of the sun is important, so is maintaining adequate vitamin D levels. Concern about vitamin D should not lead people to forego sun protection, but rather prompt a conversation with their physician about how to ensure adequate and safe vitamin D intake while guarding against skin cancer.”

Does this alter the guidance on vitamin D and pregnancy? Not specifically. You should still get acceptable sun exposure to manufacture the vitamin and attain the rest through a healthy and balanced diet. Supplementation may help as well.

Many women spend their first few fruitful years avoiding pregnancy with utmost diligence by always taking a contraception pill at an elected time or keeping contraception and backup sheaths available at any time. When the time comes that you are ready to become pregnant, you need to take the same diligent approach to maximize your possibilities of conceiving.

Employing a fertility monitor like ClearBlue Easy allows you to know when your body is at its perfect to conceive. Most fertility tests will tell you when your 2 peak days occur by monitoring a surge in Luteinizing Hormone or LH, the hormone that triggers ovulation. The benefit to Clearblue easy Fertility Monitors is that it tracks a second hormone associated with ovulation that may show you an additional 1-5 days of high fertility that will happen before the top period. Since sperm can survive in your body for several days, having intercourse during these additional days will increase your odds of conception.

Most statistics indicate that couples have a 25% chance of conceiving by having intercourse each peak day during each cycle without monitoring fertility. By knowing when your peak days occur as well as your highly fertile days before the top days, you can increase these odds.

How do ClearBlue Easy Fertility Monitors Work?

Most fertility monitors consist of test sticks. The sticks are exposed to first morning urine and if the LH surge is spotted, the test stick will display positive. More advanced systems, like Clearblue straightforward, include a monitor and test strips. With the Clearblue easy system, you test your first morning pee on the 1st day of your cycle ( the first day you get your period ). Once you have performed the test, you insert the test stick in the test stick window. The monitor then analyzes your fertility and displays a number of bars. One bar means low fertility, two means high fertility and three means top fertility. The monitor also provides you with a popular six-hour window for which you need to perform the test each day. The monitor will also tell you what day of your cycle you are on as well as when you can look forward to a period. If you are getting close to your next period or are past the day of your anticipated period, the monitor will counsel you to take a pregnancy test.

While no product can guarantee pregnancy, an advance fertility monitor like Clearblue Easy can help you maximize your possibilities. Remember, conception is a complicated process that can take some cycles. If however you have not achieved pregnancy within one year and you are under the age of 35 or suffer conditions, talk to a medical care provider.

An ovarian cyst is a sac containing fluid or semi-solid materials that develop in or on the ovary. These cysts are very common in women in their reproductive years but tend to resolve naturally without any medical intervention.

Sometimes some cysts don’t resolve naturally as expected and instead continue to grow and get bigger. It may eventually get to a stage where it begins to cause the woman unbearable pain.

Ovarian cysts, especially functional ovarian cysts (not the ones related to polycystic ovary syndrome) don’t in themselves affect you fertility. What makes you infertile is the treatment your doctor is likely to prescribe for you.

The conventional treatment for ovarian cysts is the use of prescription oestrogen and progestin birth control pills, which stop the woman from ovulating. The thinking is that if the woman does not ovulate then she is unlikely to develop functional cysts.

Ovarian Cysts and Fertility

If you say yes and accept the conventional treatment of using birth control pills as a form of treatment for your ovarian cysts then you are more or less making yourself infertile because if you dont ovulate, there is no way you could ever become pregnant.

The other way contraceptive pills work is by thickening the woman’s cervical mucus and making it sticky to the extent that the sperm is unable to survive for long enough to fertilise her egg.

In a nutshell, the conventional treatment for ovarian cysts makes you infertile.

You have to understand that lack of oestrogen is not the reason why you have ovarian cysts; in fact, taking oestrogen causes your ovarian cyst to grow bigger and become even more painful.

Apart from that, using the pill has so many other side effects including:

1. Thinning the lining of the uterus making it unable to support a pregnancy.

2. Raising copper levels in the body. Excess copper can be toxic and has been associated with pre-eclampsia and postnatal depression.

3. Disturbing a woman’s menstrual cycle so much that it can be months sometimes years before regular menstrual cycles resume. In some cases, it never returns to normal.

4. A higher occurrence of ectopic pregnancy in women who use the pill as compared to those who dont’.

5. Mineral and vitamin imbalances in the body

6. Lowered resistance to infections including genito-urinary and fungal infections.

There are so many more side effects to using the pill that it is almost impossible to talk about all of them here.

What you need to understand is that ovarian cysts occur very often in many women in their reproductive years but tend to resolve naturally. If they don’t then you need to look at alternative methods of treatments and avoid the use of contraceptive pills at all cost.

One of the most crucial elements to conceiving is a true knowledge of how your cycle works. If you know when your peak fertility days happen, you know when you must plan to have intercourse.

Understanding Your Cycles—Information from The ClearBlue Easy Ovulation Detector

However, before you put intercourse on your calendar, you should make sure you understand how the biologic process of ovulation occurs. Contrary to what your eighth grade health teacher may have told you, not every woman operates on a standard 28-day cycle. Normally cycle lengths can vary often from 21-42 days. The beginning of each cycle starts with the first day of your period, which can mostly last from 3 to 7 days. Most women experience the worst pains, if any, on the first day of their cycle as their bodies prepare to shed the lining built up in the uterus from the prior cycle.

At the start of your cycle, the body starts to produce follicle stimulating hormone ( FSH ), which is the main hormone involved in the production of mature eggs. With the release of FSH the body also releases estrogen to aid in the development of mature eggs. While a number of follicles are stimulated with the release of FSH, usually one becomes dominant. This is the egg that will be released upon ovulation. At the same time this follicle is ripening the egg inside, estrogen production has stimulated your uterus to grow with a thick lining full of nutrients that will finally supply the nourishment to the fertilized egg should you conceive. The estrogen surge will also produce fruitful cervical mucus, which creates a more inhabitable environment for sperm to swim through.

Eventually the rise in estrogen will cause a fast rise in Luteinizing Hormone ( LH ), which provides the ripening egg with the required inducement to be released from the follicle. This release is known as ovulation.

Once the egg is released, it moves down the fallopian tube and into the uterine cavity. Maximum chances of conception occur if intercourse occurs on the days before ovulation as the egg can only live for twenty-four hours while sperm can measure up to five days. If fertilization doesn’t happen, the body produces reduced amounts of estrogen and progesterone till eventually your next period begins.

Tracking Your Cycle With the Clearblue Easy Digital Ovulation Test

So if every girl has a different cycle, how are you going to know when you are ovulating? And, just as importantly, How will you be ready to predict ovulation so you can have intercourse before? There are lots of strategies to tracking and charting fertility, including tracking your basal body temperature, cervical mucus or cervix position. However, none of these strategies are as effective at forecasting the 24-36 hour window before ovulation than the ClearBlue Easy Ovulation Detector. This test helps you pinpoint the best two days naturally by detecting your LH surge. This kit is the most efficient as it provides clear, digital results that mean you don’t have to translate lines like on a standard test. If you use the Clearblue Easy Digital Ovulation test once a day at the same time around the days you predict your LH surge, it will help you identify the days you are most certain to conceive.

Although the classic “Its a Girl” and “Its a Boy” themes are lovely classics, there is so much more you can do with a baby shower. There are various sweet baby shower themes that will make your shower shine and stand apart from the rest. Themes like “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star,” “Noahs Ark,” and “Candy Land,” will make your shower unique and unforgettable. This article will provide some basic baby shower themes from which you can get ideas from, and adapt them to your needs.

“Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” is a beautiful nursery rhyme inspired theme that will fill the room with sweet vibes and tenderness. This theme is also easy to assemble at any location, whether it be a house, a restaurant, a banquet hall, or a hotel. Finding basic star- shaped decorations will definitely not be a problem, and making them is not difficult at all. For example, for centerpieces, you can fill star-shaped baskets or containers with baby-themed items, flowers, candy and confetti. For a special touch, you can also throw shiny star-shaped confetti on the tables.

Have nursery rhymes playing as background music, and decorate the room space with quotes from the poem, “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.” You can also buy pre-packaged cookie dough and use moon and star-shaped cookie cutters. For a little something extra, decorate the cookies with sprinkles. Another great idea is to buy white chocolate chips and moon and star candy molds, melt the chocolate, and fill the molds in with the melted chocolate. Put these in little star-shaped decorative boxes and give to the guests as party favors. “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” is very versatile, and there are countless ideas that you can use for this theme.

The theme, “Noahs Ark” makes an adorable setting for your shower. For this idea, purchase or design your own ark mural and post on the wall. Make sure it is big and top-notch quality, because this will make a great background for taking pictures. For each table, use different animals for centerpieces. You can buy different types of stuffed animals like bunnies, giraffes, elephants, and bears, and use these as a foundation for your centerpieces. Decorate cute baskets, fill them up with candy and baby items, and place the stuffed animals inside of the baskets (a different animal in each basket). Make little animal-shaped chocolates, and hand out Noahs Ark themed invitations.

Candy Land makes a fun theme, for men, women, and children of all ages. For invitations, send out candy in personalized wrappers. You can have candy wrappers customized in several websites online, or you can use a candy wrapper template, also found online, and make them yourself. Buy big, colorful, and yummy candy, and use them to design centerpieces. Use Candy Land board games as the base of your centerpieces and decorate with more candy! Purchase or make your own candy posters, and place them all over the room. Remember to use a lot of confetti, decorative party strings, and colors!

There are a lot of things that cause stretch marks, like weight gain, pregnancy, and lack of moisture in the air. Stretch marks aren’t harmful, but they are unsightly, and if you are a woman, you will probably get them at some point in your life.

Stretch marks happen when the top layer of skin gets a series of microscopic tears in it, and as it heals it is left with a wrinkled and misshapen appearance. While they often subside over time, some do not go away at all. They can be prevented by not gaining weight suddenly, and adopting a good skin care routine, but some people are forced to get surgery to correct them.

Other things that are thought to cause stretch marks are yo-yo dieting, dry skin, and lackluster nutrition. These things can cause the collagen and elastin within your skin to break down, leading to stretch marks. Here are some ways to prevent them:

Exercise on a regular basis. It increases circulation to all parts of the body (including the skin, keeping it supple and toned). A workout that makes you break a sweat keeps your pores clear of toxins, which will stimulate the skin’s natural renewal process.

A vigorous workout will reduce overall stress and help to balance your hormones, which we all know can lead to more elastic and toned skin. That’s something we could all benefit from!

Moisturize well, and often. Use a moisturizer that has Vitamin E- it can stop stretch marks before they start. Look for a moisturizer that has a lot of shea or cocoa butter, and apply it at least twice a day, right after you shower. Your skin will be silky and resilient.

Eat a diet rich in lean protein (like chicken and fish), fruit, and vegetables. Drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated, and reduce or eliminate your use of tobacco and alcohol. Choose foods rich in vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals. These steps will induce your skin’s natural renewal, reducing stretch marks and making for more resilient skin.

If all else fails, opt for laser treatments. We all know what wonders they can work on the skin of the face, but lasers work well on skin on other parts of the body, too. For example, the Fraxel treatment will simply remove the uppermost layer of skin, where stretch marks form. Then you will develop a new, fresh layer of skin over the next few weeks, and your stretch marks will most likely disappear.

Cosmetics that are fortified with vitamins, moisturizers and minerals can work well as a skin treatment. Products that contain Vitamin A and Vitamin E are great at preventing stretch marks from forming, or to minimize the appearance of those that are already there.

If you’d rather go the all natural route, there are many herbal remedies that are proven to make skin more smooth and resilient. Products with ingredients like vitamin E, vitamin A, aloe, and olive oil work best when they are applied to the stretch marks. All of these things will deeply moisturize your skin, making it more resilient and elastic.

Home remedies, while not as quick acting as a surgical procedure, can and do provide results. Things like oatmeal and egg whites will over time make stretch marks less noticeable, and new skin will grow in. With these slower-working remedies, you must be consistent to see results.

While there’s no surefire way to prevent all stretch mark cases, most can be reduced through healthy diet and an active lifestyle. Stretch marks are something most of us will have to deal with at some time, and treatments ranging from surgery to natural remedies all help to manage them and keep skin looking great.

Having a yeast infection during pregnancy is a big problem. This is because the medications that you have to take to cure it could affect the development of the unborn child in your womb. This is why it is usually recommended to use a natural remedy for yeast infection when you are pregnant.

There are several natural remedies that a pregnant woman could use. The most popular among them is natural yogurt. It is effective against yeast infections because it contains lactobacillus acidophilus. This bacteria blocks the growth of Candida albicans which causes the infection. It could either be applied by inserting a yogurt-coated tampon in the vagina or by applying it directly to the vaginal walls.

Another natural remedy for yeast infection is cider vinegar. The acidic nature of it effectively kills the yeast. Just make sure to dilute it with water before washing your vagina with it as it could be painful if used undiluted.

Another natural remedy is garlic. Unknown to many people, garlic is one of the best natural medication against yeast infection with its antifungal properties. A peeled garlic clove is usually wrapped with gauze and is used as a suppository. A string is usually tied to it for easy removal later.

There are many ways to treat yeast infection. However, it would be best to consult first a doctor to confirm that you really have one before using a natural remedy for yeast infection. This is to assure you that you will be applying the right treatment to your illness.
