We Are Having A Baby!

Those five words will change your life forever. After finding out that you are pregnant and letting your family know comes the sex of the baby. You’ll sit there for a few months thinking of designs for the nursery but once you hear it is a boy or a girl your mind will go in one direction. So how will you decorate your first nursery? Here are a few tips which may help you out.

Depending on the sex of the baby you’ll be able to choose the color palette. As usual pinks are always the way to go for a girl and blue tones are always for the boy. If you don’t know what you are having many choose neutrals, greens, and yellows which are uni-sex. Stuffed animals can always count as the dcor in the room if you aren’t quite sure what else you’ll need to place into a nursery.

There is such much more now that people are doing for their nurseries. You may decide on a theme like the Walt Disney’s princesses for your little princess or maybe sports cars or racing cars like from the Walt Disney movie Cars. What ever the case, the possibilities are endless. You can have a bright red baby bed, with big rubber or pillowy looking cars, or maybe you want to put Tinkerbell in a starlit sky in your soon to be little girl’s room. You can even do the nursery in the colors of the college you hope he or she gets into.

If you want something which isn’t really themed such as a storybook or animals try going for the traditional ABC’s or 123’s. You’ll be able to make the space whatever color you wish and then add these few dcor designs into the room to compliment it. They are great for uni-sex rooms as well so your child will be able to use this room when they become a toddler to learn their ABC’s and 123’s. Area rugs are one way to add a great pattern to a rooms design as well. If you are able to find an area rug which ties the color scheme in that you have going it will work out perfectly.

If you are looking for a great way to store items such as Q-tips, cotton balls and other little gadgets you’ll need for your new bundle of joy, choose great canisters. You can have these sitting in reach on the changing station or on a shelf so you don’t have to go far if you need one. The color on the walls should be a neutral color. If you want a punch of color try painting one wall which could be the focal point in the room where the window is placed. No matter what type of design you choose for your newborns room this will be the most wonderful time in your life to hold your little one and rock them to sleep in their own nursery.
